It Keeps Coming

Alright, So after Deepavali, classes continued as usual and things got suddenly shifted to 6th gear. Suddenly you see people running around frantically, screaming and panicking about the assignments and presentations. Suddenly the tone of the lecturers changed from "How is your progress?", to "You better be at least half way done by now, otherwise you will be in trouble!!!".

Fast forward a little and after a few sleepless night figuring out what the H3|| is SQL and VB.net, through some amazingly fast collection of resources, I finally managed to finished my assignment. I guess the best part was when my mum woke up at 6 in the morning and saw me packing up to get a quick nap =p She was like, "Just woke up ah?". I was like, "More like going to sleep now".

Trying too look happy although we know we will get drilling from the lecturer later =p

Ok, I'm sure you wouldn't want to listen to me whine, so fast forward a little and 'it's the season to be Jolly.' But anyone who celebrates Christmas and is old enough to pay for their own presents know that before there is Happiness, Celebration and Laughter there is Panic, Stress and more Stress!

The morning after I submitted my assignment, I was already preparing for Christmas. Bought lamps for half the house, did a minor renovation to the house, did a little painting, Oh, did i mention that I had 2 papers to sit and a presentation during that period. There is also that dreadful process of using your own money to buy presents for other people, and I'm not talking about one or two people. more like 20 people!!! And getting presents that are not common, and suitable for that person is really difficult, especially when you give them presents every year.

Intermission

Hey, just got back from performing at Mandarin Oriental. This is part one of our three part Christmas Caroling there this year. And guess what? I'm flying to Indonesia in a few hours time, so guess I wont be blogging for the next few days. I know I'm way past due but I'll try to catch up as soon as possible ok? Just hoping I'll find everything I need there, wish me luck!!!

So, after having a great night in Zouk, you might think things can not go any better right? But it did!!! Because the very next day was DEEPAVALI!!! It is the day you stuff yourself till you have to go on a fast for a week after that (well, thats my definition anyway)

So, although I barely got enough sleep from last night's outing, I gladly woke up, got ready and headed over to Sha's place, and once we got there guess what I saw?

Damn, every year, Deepavali comes and goes, and every year there is one person that I really wish would be around to celebrate with, coz it is never the same without him. I mean, it's all nice and fun but if HE was around, it would be a whole new level, don't you agree?

Round 2

Ok, lets continue. Let's see, there was the hunting for clothes for Deepavali...

Then there was the outing to Zouk for the first time, it was Mumbo Jumbo night too!!!

It was kind of empty when we went there although it was PACKED like hell outside. A lot of 'RESERVED' tables...

BUT, it was really worth the wait, coz the night went really well!!! These are times where I am glad that I grew up listening to those songs, some even my parents' time... Who could withstand the temptation and stand still when songs like, 'YMCA', 'It's My Life', 'STOP' and 'Jump' are being played? I never danced like that in my life... Try dancing nonstop without having breaks for hours!!! We practically, danced the moment the first song was played until we left (not counting the life-saving breaks we had to hydrate ourselves)

A little catching up to do...

Well, what happened since I really blogged? Let's see, I just finished my first semester of my second year, and believe me when I say it's totally different from the first year!!! Not only are you supposed to produce something at the end of the semester (which was 7 weeks), the product was practically not taught in lecturers. You are expected to learn it on your own! I, being a typical Malaysian who has been spoon-fed all the schooling days of my life, was really in a state of shock. But anyway, I managed =p

On a lighter note, Keith and Allison finally got married!!! too bad I didn't have my camera all the time, but the whole thing was almost perfect. Attending someone's wedding is nice but it's nothing compared to attending your close friend's wedding. Somehow you pay attention to all the details, and you just give a damn =p

The theme was Shanghai Glam, so we tried to look as oriental as possible =p

I know, it may not be as 'canggih' as a lot of the other cameras in the market, but it has everything I needed, a lot of functions, slick, and the best of all, my pocket could handle it =p Some might ask me, why not get a higher pixel camera? After doing tons of research, I realized that actually anything higher than 5MP is enough, unless you plan to blow up the picture and hang it on a billboard...

Ok, I am truly sorry for the M.I.A. I know it has been months since I posted something, but believe me when I say that there were a few times where I was already composing and I just can't seem to finish it, or when it came to inserting pictures and it just wouldn't upload, so I saved it and never finished it (I know it's an excuse=p) So, this is my official apology to all those who kept asking me why my blog is not updated. I'll try to fill in the blanks from where I last left you till now. There are ALOT of things that happened! Happiness, Sadness, Romance, Action, Suspense, you name it. So, check regularly, I'll try to post them ASAP! That's all for now, See ya!!!

Life Thus Far

Well, it's been a little more than a week since I started class and it's sad to say that I am a little disappointed... Not only are the classes spread-out so much that I have hours of free time between classes, the subjects seemed to be moving at a very slow rate. Maybe it's because of the Raya mood. Hopefully things will get better soon... This is also the first time I have a class of 200 students!!! I know it's quite common to some people, but in the past, my classes have never been this big and the cozy feeling and closeness to the lecturer is just not there...

So, what else have happened? Well, recently the whole family headed off to Mid Valley to do a little window shopping and also celebrate my granny's birthday!!! Believe me when I say Megamall looked very racist that day. You could only see Chinese and Indian there! It's understandable since all the Muslims are at homes celebrating Raya, some making money instead of spending them =p It was pouring! But we decided to cross over to the Gardens to see if the air there smells 'richer' than usual =p Not only are sofa bigger there, so are the leaks!

You might no be able to see it, but water is flowing down like a waterfall. Maybe they should change the name to the Rain Forest instead of the Gardens =p

Empty?

That's how I'm feeling now... Have you ever felt like your days are passing without any achievements? Like you are just wasting your 'Ching Chun' (youth-days). Well, that's how I'm currently feeling. Don't get me wrong, I love holidays. When I finished my last paper in July, I could feel this burden lifted from me, it was the best feeling ever. But now I feel like I have been floating for so long, it's a bit nauseatic now...

I guess the saying is true, that people are never satisfied with what they have. For instance, If you read my last post, you would know that I worked for an event management company, and honestly, I had a great time. Not because of the event (well, the event was great too), but it was because I was part of something, I had an objective in life. When I wake up in the morning, I knew exactly what I needed to do, and it felt nice.

Oh, yeah. I was also awarded for being one of the best temps. Looks like all those sleepless nights were worth it =p


Also got this laptop bag which the delegates had to pay RM1300 to get =p

I have been slowing down on partying, drinking and clubbing recently, which is a good thing, considering that classes are starting soon. Oh, FYI, I finally decided to choose Computing as my specialism. Since I learn a bit of everything, I guess it's better than mastering in something in this ever changing world and I have been told that in my field, it doesn't really matter what your specialism is.

Where was I? Ah, yes! you might have realised by now that this post is all about me complaining, and talking about rubbish which everyone knows it as common sense, but I just felt like stating the obvious because we are so ahead of ourselves that we sometimes forget the simplest thing in life =p

Views like these help me to think properly...

So, although I do all this whining and complaining, I do know my life will return to it's normal hectic self soon, when my classes start. And this time, I am ready for it =p

The End Has Come...

YES! I'm afraid that it is true, my holidays have come to an end. In a little more than 2 weeks from today, I will be sitting in classes listening to lecturers talking about how difficult it's gonna be over and over again. And before you know it, you are thrown with tons of homework and assignments. It's a little scary actually, I am almost definitely sure that I will be choosing Mobile Computing as my major when I register tomorrow, but I somehow feel like I should be taking something else. Maybe I should be taking the same major as my other friends? I am taking a major step here actually, none of my ex classmates are taking the same major as I and I'll be all alone. Maybe it's exactly what I need to help me concentrate on my studies. The only thing I'm afraid is that I might regret later. From my experience of interrogating people from this field, they all ask me to do whatever I love, because in the end, that degree is just a ticket for me to enter that interview room, the rest is really up to your character and personality. I know, I sound very long-winded, like a 9 year old boy who has been awaken in the middle of the night by his parents and is told to choose who he wants to marry =p

People seem to be disappearing from my life in a very rapid rate. I don't know about the rest but I have always had this universal question of "Who is the main character in this play?" I always think that I, myself is the main actor and the rest of the people in this world are the supporting characters. But of course, everyone feels exactly the same as I do, because one can only see the world from one's eyes. This greatly helps me whenever I feel like the world is being unfair to me. I tell myself that imagine running multiple operating systems at the same time and every operating system is running its own software and programs. That would be a massive load of burden on the ram and processor. I know I sound like a true nerd now, but bare with me =p People are like the operating system and the story of our lives are like the software and programs that we run. Every program that runs on each operating system are equally important to the respective operating systems. And yes, you guessed it, the programs are the life events that each one of us experience. So although someone's birthday means squat to me, but to that person, it means the world and I tell that to myself all the time. So, next time you see my making a decision and suddenly changing my mind, that is when all of the above happens in my mind.

Actually, it is a good thing that people are leaving and things are starting to settle down, since my holidays are coming to a halt. I just sent Elaine back to the States yesterday and the twins left without a word as usual although we did have a kick ass drinking session before that =p I don't know, but this time the impact is greater than the last time they all left, maybe this time I was free, or maybe I got closer to them this time... Well, it will be at least another year before I see their faces again.

So, how have I been spending my 2 months holiday? Well, it started with weekly outings of clubbing with Sha and the gang, and when the twins and Elaine came back, it was mamak and drinking sessions with Andy, Abby, Elaine and Evonne. Some midnight movies, computer hunting with Elaine in Low Yat. Then there was the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition in Putrajaya. Recently, I did a part time job with Microsoft for their Tech-Ed event. Although it was a 4-day event, but prior to that, the interviews and briefings made it seem forever, but it was a great experience and I learnt a lot from it.
